Twelfth Night (11 of 37)

Publication Date: April 7, 2011

Chapter: English Literature in the Sixteenth Century

Twelfth Night is a play that the queer theorists have a field day with. Honestly, it's almost too easy. Everybody loves everybody else, and the gender roles aren't always very traditional. In the case of this particular scene, it's almost like Orsino could end his description of Cesario with, "...and if you were actually a chick, I'd totally bone you."

But he doesn't. Because it's 1602. But you get the picture.
