Chapter: English Literature During The Romantic Period

Here we go! This should be one of Lit Brick's largest undertakings as we take on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, chapter by chapter. The entire book is part of the English Norton's seventh edition, and while I don't have to cover the whole thing, I think it sounds like fun. I've read it before, in college. Let's see how much I can remember.

There should be about thirty strips in all. After the first few weeks, there'll be a little intermission, just to refresh our palate, and then I'll finish the job.

Our story opens on a boat in freezing northern waters, where Captain Walton is seeking fame after failing as a writer. Obstinently a voyage of discovery, Walton spends most of his time whining about his lot in life via letters to his sister. I assume said sister skims the first few lines of said letters before sighing and hurling them into the fireplace.
