To A Louse

Robert Burns wrote the most Scottish things ever.  These poems sound like Middle English but were written in 1786.

Also, another reminder: Phoenix Comicon.  May 23 to 26.  Table 1739.  BE THERE.

Author: Robert Burns Date of Publication: 1786 Source: Wikipedia

    When I read the firt panel, my first thought was: “Burns”. However, in my defense, my grandfather was Scottish, and I grew up with books of Burns poetry. I even found one where he complains about one of my ancestors; apparently he was a particularly sactimonious priest who got on Burns nerves.

    Well, Scots do have some heavy Norse influences in their language (and/or heritage), so it’s no big surprise I guess.

    As do the English, but there’s some differences in time and social classes influenced by them, to say nothing of the Normandy-Norse connection.

    So in short, English is a pretty messed up language.

    Also holy crap Burns’s writing is awesome. That may partly be Brave speaking, though.

    Also: I CAN NOT BE AT COMICON! I have work (for now), and I don’t even live on the same continent. :p

    … It sounds like Molly’s insulting Nicholle to her face and getting away with it. ^^;
